Kita Vav (Sixth Grade) Judaic Studies GoalsThe life cycle events of birth, naming, brit milah, bar/bat mitzvah, marriage, commitments, old age and death will be explored. Students will learn about the rituals that accompany each event and their origins. Field trips and special speakers will enhance this unit of study.
Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) will be the 2nd unit of study. Students will explore their own interests and talents in relationship to doing social justice and mitzvot. Hebrew Goals
The emphasis is on reading fluency and comprehension. Some modern Hebrew will be introduced. The following prayers will be added to those already learned through 5th grade:
